We rebuild all carburettors found on popular British cars like the SU, Zenith Stromberg, Weber and Dellorto side drafts.  Additionally we can restore, rebuild and modify Lucas Mechanical Fuel Injection components, as found on the European Triumph TR6s and other vehicles.  

 

Simply said, our carburettors are beautiful and function as well as they look. As with all of our rebuilding services, no corners are cut,the highest attention to detail and producing the best rebuild we can our goals for every rebuilding project sent to us.

 

When we receive a carburettor, or two, or three or four (you Jag V12 guys!) we do a thorough evaluation of the carburettor and note if there is any unrepairable damage or components missing. The carburettors are then stripped and all parts are cleaned in a mild solvent to remove built up varnishes and dirt. All parts are then ultrasonically cleaned. Ultrasonic cleaning is the only method that can clean the small internal passages of the carb. If a stock finish is desired, the as ultrasonic cleaned finish is left and the carburettor is then built.

 

For customers wanting a show finish, our carburettors are polished - internally and externally - to a high shine. Exclusive to Wishbone Classics, our polishing process does not remove or erode details of the casting, like the fine lettering found on some dashpots. The carburettor is then fully rebuilt with the best components available.

 

Carburettors are delivered to the customer with needles and jets preset, as accurately as we have determined for your application. Changes to the carburettors can also be incorporated to increase airflow or fuel flow for cars that have modified or improved engines.

 

British fuel pumps are also rebuilt in-house.  Original AC manufactured fuel pumps, as found on popular Triumph sports cars, are rebuilt to the highest standards with the correct finishes.  Likewise, we can rebuild SU electric fuel pumps to as new specification.  All SU electric fuel pumps can be rebuilt with solid state electronics upgrades (in place of the original mechanical points) in order to improve the SU pump's reliability and longevity.
