Triumph's component modularity across its engine range was great from a mass manufacturing point of view.  It meant the same connecting rod could be used in a Spitfire, as was used in a GT6 engine, as was used in the TR6 engine.  Triumph would then alter the piston compression height to make accommodations for the various dimensional differences that would come from the different crankshaft strokes mated with the same length connecting rod.

Once again we worked with ARP to put together a superior hardware kit in order to provide you with the highest quality performance components we can.  This kit replaces the original low-grade main cap bolts, with a full complement of ARP high tensile strength studs, thick hardened ARP washers, and ARP flange nuts.  Studs are the preferred method to secure heavily loaded components such as cylinder heads and main caps.
